The Signal #007: A head of state, a top-50 bar, and what’s next

Hi there,

My take

Yesterday we hosted Mara Lezama Espinosa, Governor of Quintana Roo, home to Cancún, the Riviera Maya, and Tulum, at our Orlando offices. It was a genuine honor to welcome her and say, in person, “Madame Governor, welcome to Orlando.” We talked about the future of tourism and how AI can help destinations serve travelers at an entirely different level.

Here’s why I’m sharing that in a product newsletter. The most striking thing about this moment in AI isn’t any single feature, it’s how fast the appetite for it is going global. Twelve months ago these conversations were happening in a handful of tech hubs. Now they’re happening with governments, across borders, in every market that touches the customer.

The companies that treat AI-driven engagement as a local experiment will find themselves competing against ones treating it as global infrastructure. We know which side we intend to be on. Orlando to London to Mexico City, and we’re just getting started. More on where we’re headed below, including where the next AI Happy Hour lands: one of the world’s best bars.

Two-minute read. Let’s go.

What’s new this week

  • ChattiStudio just got five upgrades, days after launch. Fresh off release, ChattiStudio is already richer. Conversations now open with an automatic greeting, exactly like a real customer would see. Every test conversation is saved and fully searchable, so you build a real history of how Chatti responds. You can personalize messages with a real name for true-to-life scenarios, launch a conversation in a single click, and Markdown and links now render beautifully. Best of all, ChattiStudio is now available to every account role, so your whole team can put Chatti to work.
  • Smarter contact matching on conversion tracking. Conversion and sales events can now identify a contact using several pieces of information at once, email and phone together, for example, taking the best available match instead of relying on a single identifier. For anyone running serious conversion tracking, far more of your real sales get attributed correctly.

What’s cooking (and it’s big) 🔮

  • Your comment section, turned into a sales engine. This is the headliner, and it’s the kind of thing only ConversionIQ does. When someone comments on a Facebook or Instagram post, Chatti can recognize a genuine sales opportunity on her own, no keyword required, and automatically open a private, personalized direct message shaped by the context of what that person actually said. And she doesn’t just send one clever reply and move on. Chatti is objective-driven: she pursues the conversion with purpose, remembering the full history of the relationship as it moves across channels, so every message builds on the last instead of starting cold. (Prefer more control? You can still trigger outreach with specific keywords or a custom context you define. But the real magic is Chatti spotting the opportunity herself.) Every DM is recorded in the same history CommentResponder™ already uses, so the entire public-comment-to-private-conversation journey is auditable in one place. A passive public comment becomes an active, goal-driven sales conversation, with no one needing to catch it manually. Phase one covers Facebook and Instagram, in active development and heading to testing soon.
  • A major Campaigns metrics overhaul. A substantial rebuild of how campaign performance is presented, including a brand-new “contacts converted” metric showing how many people actually completed a campaign’s goal, a cleaner list with active campaigns first, and new time-series reporting to power real trend charts. In staging.
  • Agent duplication, the “why didn’t we always have this” feature. Duplicate a fully configured agent, its widget, Knowledge Base, and channel settings, straight from the Agents module or right inside the campaign wizard. No more rebuilding from scratch.
  • Full transparency into what Chatti knows. Two capabilities just scoped: a direct search tool to find anything inside a Knowledge Base instantly, and visible source citations in ChattiStudio showing exactly which document informed a given response, so outdated content gets spotted and fixed fast.
  • Instagram messaging for Instagram-first businesses. Still fully built and staged, opening Instagram messaging to businesses whose account isn’t linked to a Facebook Page. The remaining step is Meta’s own app review.

🌎 Orlando to London to Mexico City

Our global push is picking up speed. Yesterday, Governor Lezama joined us at our Orlando offices, alongside Ivan Pliego Moreno, Consul of Mexico in Orlando, and the Orlando Chamber of Commerce, for a conversation about tourism, investment, and the role AI will play in how destinations attract and serve travelers. Our sincere thanks to Scott Matthews and the Orlando Chamber for bringing it together.

We’re also building the team to match the moment. This month we welcomed Tarell Harrison as our Global Head of Sales (read the press release). Tarell has spent his career helping some of the world’s largest enterprises adopt AI to engage customers, with President’s Club recognition across Nuance, PolyAI, and Omilia and deep experience spanning financial services, travel, hospitality, retail, and telecom. His mandate is simple: put autonomous, on-brand engagement in front of enterprise customers wherever they are, in whatever language they speak.

And next stop, Mexico City. On September 6 we’re bringing the AI Happy Hour to Mexico City, the night before the AMDETUR Congress opens. Full venue details land next week, but here’s a hint: we’re reserving space at one of The World’s 50 Best Bars. Then on September 8 in Mexico City, I’ll be speaking on a Congress panel, “From Vision to Execution: Technology, Data and AI in Action,” about how technology and AI move from slide decks to real execution.

If you’ll be at AMDETUR or in Mexico City for the Happy Hour, I’d love to see you there. Request an invite.

Every one of these came from listening. Hit reply and tell me what would move the needle for your business, and there’s a real chance you’ll see it in a future edition. The more you tell us, the faster the roadmap moves.

See you next Wednesday. ⚡
